Recycling is now a permanent pillar of global platinum group metal supply. In 2023, approximately 35% of global PGM demand was filled from recycled sources, and that share continues to grow. Every recovered ounce reduces reliance on primary mining and shortens the supply chain for the industries that depend on these metals.

Regenx is a key component of the Circular Economy for platinum group metals without the need for smelting or mining.

Regenx has developed a proprietary, environmentally responsible process that recovers platinum and palladium from end of life diesel catalytic converters. Our hydrometallurgical technology extracts these critical metals without the smelting, high emissions, and heavy water use of traditional recovery methods.

Core materials are separated from the metal containers and ground to fine powder

Pt and Pd are extracted from the ground materials into solution through chemical processes

Pt and Pd are recovered as a concentrate from the solution utilizing precipitation

The concentrate is sent to a refinery for upgrading and sale

Diesel SiC converters present challenges for traditional smelting methods, often leading to higher processing costs or outright refusal by smelters. By specializing in Diesel SiC converter recycling, Regenx offers a cost-effective solution that fills a market niche with an innovative solution for a market segment that is growing due to increased regulations and transitioning to electrification at a slower pace that the gasoline market.

RegenX's innovative technology for processing SiC converters minimizes environmental impact by reducing the need for mining and refining raw materials. By recovering PGMs from recycled SiC converters, RegenX contributes to the circular economy, lowering carbon emissions and conserving natural resources, which aligns with global sustainability goals.

Regenx has a partnership with Davis Recycling Inc., a leading player in the automotive recycling industry on the Eastern seaboard of the United States. This partnership provides access to the required supply of feedstock at optimal pricing while diverting more product from ending up in landfills.

RegenX works closely with smelters to provide a viable outlet for SiC converters, which are often rejected by traditional processing methods. This collaboration not only helps smelters reduce operational issues but also opens up new revenue streams for both parties by making previously unusable materials valuable again.

Our first commercial module in Eastern Tennessee, when fully operational, processes 5000 lbs per day with a projected expansion to 10 tons per day across four modules. Each module represents a step towards our goal of establishing multiple facilities across North America and beyond. Regenx’s modular approach ensures rapid scaling and adaptability to meet global demand.
